About Vladimir Migachev

“Everything is possible on the Earth,-says Vladimir Migachev – love, hate, happiness, pleasure, grief, wars, victories. But only under the certain condition- there must be the earth itself. Nothing can exist without it”.

The artist has been devoted to the genre of monotonous landscape for many years, discovering more and more possibilities and chances to introduce his ideas. That fact that Vladimir Migachev was born in 1959 in the village in Orlov region made him perfectly understand and feel all the secrets of Russian nature. After graduation from the Kuban State University in Krasnodar the young artist was teaching art at school for two years painting abstract pictures for ten years at same time. Abstract art attracted him by its absolute freedom and great opportunity to surprise by its colorful means.

In the middle of 1990 Vladimir Migachev was asked to paint the church which provoked his interest to national customs and traditions. He decided to paint the “portrait” of Russia with its spacious lands and endless areas, expressing the well-known Russian soul and sacral power. To make his creative plans come true he intuitively selected his own technique and the manner of painting using sand, soil, coal, ash, acryl, wood and herbs in his works. This was the brilliant way of expressing the landscapes with the natural resources and materials which contained the energy of earth.

Apart from mixing different materials Vladimir Migachev also combines different approaches and styles- realism, neo-expressionism, graphic monochrome, brutal components and monumentalism. His works remind us of jugend-style and symbolism with their delicate sadness, nostalgie, worry and loneliness.

Eventually the artist reveals the ambivalenty of nature being the victim and the executor at the same time. It means that on the one hand we feel pain for terrifying ecological and moral world and on the other hand we should not forget that the Earth is one of the elements which powerful anger is terrible.
